Although getting married was one of the best and exciting moments in my life, I can’t deny the stress of the planning and preparations for the big day. Finding the perfect dress was no easy task and choosing the wedding announcement with my fiance was definitely a long and drawn out process. Then there were the engagement pictures and my bridals to get taken care of before the wedding month even came around. I had to decide what I wanted my cake to look like and get the luncheon order in to the caterer well before the wedding day in order to have everything done on time. I can’t even count how many times my mom and I went shopping together as we looked for fun and cute decorations for the wedding reception.
There is so much planning that goes into a successful wedding that for several weeks I felt like I was drowning in the wedding plans. Finally, things started to settle down as many of the necessary plans were complete. During one of my shopping trips with my mom, I found these beautiful inexpensive candle holders. Although we all the decorations we needed for the reception, I just couldn’t pass up the inexpensive candle holders. They had an elegant intricate design on them that perfectly matched the theme and feeling to the reception, and because they were so inexpensive, I didn’t feel too guilty when my mom bought several of them. I was already wanting candles at my reception and these holders were perfect for them. On the day of my wedding everything went perfect, probably due to the hours and hours of preparation done before the wedding day. When I arrived at the reception center that evening, my family and friends had already decorated it perfectly.
I immediately spotted my precious inexpensive candle holders and was so pleased with how they looked. They added such a great feeling to the guest tables. I’m sure the tables would have looked nice without the inexpensive candle holders, but the holders made them look magnificent. I was so pleased with how everything turned out. The flowers were perfect and the cake looked even better than I had imagined, but those candle holders, with the candles flickering beautifully in them, was still my favorite part of the reception. I wasn’t exactly sure what my mom was planning on doing with the candle holders after the reception. After my two older sister’s weddings she made several boxes of the decorations and often let her friends borrow anything in them that they needed for various events. She also gave away some of the flowers and vases to friends and family who had helped out a lot with setting up and taking down the reception decorations. I assumed she would either pack the inexpensive candle holders in the wedding boxes or give them away to the helpers.
I was shocked a few weeks after my wedding to receive a package in the mail from my mom with those candle holders that I had fallen in love with. My mom had already given my husband and me several wedding gifts, but she gave us this one more that was unexpected. I was so excited when I saw them and I immediately found a spot for them in my new little apartment. They were out for everyone to see and I would often pull them out and use them for a nice dinner with my husband. It may sound silly that I loved those candle holders so much, but they were just so beautiful. Although I have now been married for about two years and am living in a different apartment than that first one, my husband and I still have the candle holders out for people to see and enjoy. The will forever be my favorite wedding gift that we received.
