Most of us think of olive drab, as they call it in the Army, combined with khaki when we think of a camouflage pattern.  Should one or both parents of a newborn son be serving in the military the traditional color combination could be fine for the nursery.  In fact, there are some really cute crib sets that emphasize the pattern and green colors.  Most are trimmed with a khaki border that is quite wide to offset the busy pattern.  Yet, some parents may not be quite ready to commit to the basics in the nursery.

For parents who wish to decorate the baby’s room with camouflage baby bedding, the options are wide open.  There is a camo color for either a boy or a girl.  Parents can decorate to suit their theme while remaining true to the traditional baby colors.

For the baby boy the options are far greater than for the little girl.  There is the traditional camo baby bedding color scheme and there is also a wide range of camo patterns in baby blue combined with khaki, sand, and off-white.  Some of the blue patterns completely cover the entire crib set.  Others have a panel in the comforter and on the bumpers in the camo pattern.  Each has a a solid baby blue border that mitigates the busy design.  Some of the camouflage splotches are smaller and closer together on some patterns, while other patterns are quite large and far less busy.  In other words, for the little boy the choices are vast and varied.

For the baby girl there are several crib sets with a pink pattern.  Daddy’s little girl enjoy his favorite pattern while satisfying mom’s need for the feminine.  Just as with the patterns for boys, the size of the patterns vary.  However, most emphasize the pink combined with khaki on a white background.  The trim and border of the comforter can either be a solid pink with pretty little bows or khaki to emphasize the pattern.

With so many choices, it pays a parent to shop around before dismissing the idea of create the nursery in camouflage.
